An ordinary housewife who happens to hear the voice of an unseen murderer tries to escape from her traumatic memories.
Asako was a telephone operator 3 years ago when she unexpectedly overheard the voice of a murder suspect, which had since daunted her. One night, her husband invites his boss Hamazaki with their clients Kawai and Muraoka when she notices that Hamazaki’s voice resembled that of the murder suspect! A few days later, Hamazaki is found dead in a rain-soaked coalfield and Asako’s husband is taken in police custody as the primary suspect. Journalist Ishikawa tries to help his former colleague Asako and begins to investigate – but quickly reaches a dead end as both Kawai and Muraoka had alibis.
